Tater Tot Nachos Jalapeno Salt

Serves 6 to 8

Ingredients

1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
1 pound ground beef (or shredded chicken)
1 teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Jalapeño Salt (plus more to taste)
2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
½ cup queso (optional but amazing)
1 fresh jalapeño, sliced
½ cup diced tomatoes
¼ cup red onion, finely chopped
¼ cup chopped cilantro
Sour cream, for topping
Guacamole, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Spread tater tots in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Sprinkle lightly with Jalapeño Salt before baking. Bake according to package directions until extra crispy, about 25–30 minutes.

  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat. Add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and Jalapeño Salt. Stir and cook 2–3 more minutes.

  3. Once tots are crispy, transfer them to an oven-safe skillet or leave on the baking sheet. Top evenly with seasoned meat and shredded cheese. Return to oven for 5–7 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

  4. Drizzle with queso if using. Top with fresh jalapeños, tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, sour cream, and guacamole. Finish with one more light sprinkle of Jalapeño Salt for extra kick.
